Jackson County

Jackson County Democratic Headquarters is now open for walk-in visitors 6 days a week.  Beginning Tuesday, September 6, headquarters will be open and staffed Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:00pm and Saturday 10:00am-1:00pm.  There are still a few open shifts.  If you can help out, please contact Virginia Milligan at 293-0197 or (after the 3rd week of September) Becky Kornegay at 293-3999.

Stop by headquarters whenever we're open.  We are well-stocked with printed issues statements, political buttons and candidate information.  Yard signs are coming in slowly, but going out quickly.

Where, when and how we vote has been a moving target as the state's voting laws were challenged and navigated the legal system.  It now appears that the final appeal has been resolved and many of the restrictions imposed in the last few years have been rescinded.  Early voting will return to 17 days, registration will be allowed at the polls during early voting and photo ID's will no longer be required.  Early voting now begins on Thursday, October 20 at the office of the Jackson County Board of Elections from 8:30am - 7:00pm on Monday through Thursday, 8:30am - 5:00pm on Friday and 9:00am - 1:00pm on Saturday.  On Thursday, October 27, the remaining early voting locations will be added:  Cashiers Rec Center, Cullowhee Rec Center, Wolftown Gym, and the new locations on WCU campus and the Savannah Community Center.  More details will soon be available at www.jacksondems.com.
