May 8, Tuesday: The Madison County Democratic Party opened our headquarters at 42 South Main Street in downtown Marshall. We need lots of volunteers to staff the headquarters. Volunteers will be responsible for registering voters and spreading good will toward all our candidates and the Democratic Party. The hours that we will be open will be determined on the amount of volunteers we have. Candidates, once our headquarters is open, please bring a supply of yard signs and any other candidate information that you would like for us to have on hand for the voters. You will be responsible for checking your stock often and replenishing as necessary. Yard signs will be handed out to voters at headquarters whenever possible, however it is the responsibility of each individual candidate to ensure that their signage is distributed as they see fit throughout the county and at all voting locations. It is also the responsibility of each candidate to ensure that yard signage is removed from all voting locations on November 7 and from throughout the county no later than November 10th. The Madison County Democratic Party Headquarters will close November 8 and at that time any remaining signage or candidate material will be recycled. I have about 50 yard sign wire stands that I will give to any Democratic candidate who needs them on a first come first serve basis.
